GERMAN CHOCOLATE FUDGE PIE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 egg yolks, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups sweetened flaked coconut
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • Pinch of salt

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a medium bowl combine melted butter, sugar, vanilla, and eggs until well blended. Stir in flour, and cocoa until smooth. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
  3. Pour the mixture into the prepared pie crust and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the center no longer jiggles and an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
